BOLIVIA

Hi TYNDA

What kind of info do you need on Bolivia? I can tell you a bit, but only
about the places I went. I am actually writing the chapter on Bolivia right
now. For now I will just give words of caution.

If you travel through the Salar of Uyuni or the road through Lago colorado
and lago verde, etc, near the Chilean border, make sure you have enough
food, water, and gas (the last two are most important). Be very careful of
the altitude for the drop in temperature is tremendous, especially at night.
I believe you should be coming into Spring there but it'll still be cold.

Dring plenty of waster to stave off altitude sickness, which is said to be
caused by a lack of oxygen. Good hydration ensures easy blood flow and
plenty of oxygen to the brain and organs. If it gets bad, take aspirin as
well (to thin the blood--i.e. improve blood flow).

Potosi is a must-see! That place is amazing. Take a tour of the mine, and
buy coca leaves and dynamite and all kinds of goodies to give as
gifts to the miners. Cover your ears if they set off dynamite near you
underground.

I found the Isla del Sol and Isla del Luna on lake Titicaca to be overated.
If you miss it, you are probably better off.

That's all for now, let me know if you need anymore. As soon as I finish the
book I will do a write up for your website on my trip. Thanks.

Andres
