I received the following information:
a norwegian biker had stored his motorcycle in Peru for about one year. When he
tried to leave the country, his motorcycle was taken from him, he had to leave
Peru by foot. He could not persuade the customs officials to give him the
permission to extend the temporary import period.
They would not take money, everything was absolutely correct.
From Ecuador he tried to get back his mc for 4 month, involving the norwegian
embassy, but without success.
A german couple who travelled with him told me this story.
Thats why I am looking for a place in La Paz, Bolivia is supposed to be easier.
