A good place to stay close to Trujillo is Huanchaco, in some places camping possible
Close to Huaraz is Caraz, very nice setting and you can camp in the yard of the Youth Hostel, nice people there, good icecream at the main Plaza. Do the trip up to the lake, the people of the YH have a good map
A safe place to stay in Lima is Hostal de las Artes 7 US $, cheaper in the Dorm (in the south American Handbook) close to the main police station. You can park the bike inside. Alexander Nasse is a nice guy at the BMW dealer in LIMA
I love Cusco. A very nice place is Guest House, Estrellita, Av. Tullamayo 445, 3,5 US $ pP. You can store luggage and the bike then you are trecking. Be careful at nighttime.
