Flying a bike into Buenos aires is very easy. People and customs offizials
were very helpful, they bribed us with a coke to write this.
We did not have to pay anything but handling fees. IN 90 MINUTES ALL THE
PAPERWORK WAS DONE AND WE COULD START TO REASSEMBLE THE BIKES.
Merry Christmas wherever you are
Werner
thanks for all the seasons greetings I received. Mine are again a bit short...
Travelling keeps me too busy to think in advance of x-mas and all the preparations.
Today I arrived in Calafate, Patagonia. The town doubled its size in the past 6 years. Now its a smalltown with good shopping and dining opportunities. Thanks to the devaluation of the Peso, the average cost for food, transportation etc. are only half of what it used to be. Thanks to global warming, maybe, the weather is unusually warm, 27 C with no wind. Unbelievable.
Tomorrow I will visit Perito Moreno glaciar. I am curious to see how it looks like after the great break almost 2 years ago.
The day after tomorrow I will fly to Ushuaia, where I will board the MV Polarstar and travel south, as far as the ice will permit. Therefore I will not be able to answer my e-mails after Dec 28.
